This is the rookie scale every year. First round rookies will be on a 4 year contract that includes two option years. After the rookie contract is over you may resign using the extension scale + $1m each following year. The qualifying amount is not a contract year. It is the minimum a new contract must be signed for. The rookie contract extensions must be picked up by Feb 1st and options are picked up in the offseason.

29 1.0 1.1 1.1 2.0 3.0
30 1.0 1.1 1.1 2.0 3.0
Rookie extension:
rank first year amount
1-7 14m (4-5 years)
8-15 12m (3-5 years)
15-20 10m (2-4 years)
21-25 8m (2-4 years)
26-30 6m (2-4 years)
31-40 5m (2-3 years)
41-50 4m (2-3 years)
51-70 3m (2-3 years)
71-90 2m (2 years)
91+ 1m (2 years)
to find the player rank go to fantrax "players", put it on that players position, and put it on "all" players. We will be using the highest rank for the last two seasons at that players best position.
examples of a rookie extension:
pick 1(rank 7) using the extension scale it costs 14m(4-5 years) to sign. so the contract would look like this:
14m 15m 16m 17m 18m
It is over the 8.5m qualifying amount
pick 2(rank 75) extension scale = 2m. The 2m is less than the qualifying amount so the contract would have to look like this:
8.0m----9.0m----10.0m (8m contract 2-4 years)
If a rookie option is not picked up he will become a FA. If all rookie options are picked up but not extended
after the 3 or 4 year contract he becomes a restricted free agent(RFA)
All 2nd round picks will be on 2 year .6m with a third option year of 1m. They may be resigned using the rookie extension but it does not increase 1m yearly.
If the rookie is staying overseas the contract will not start until the season he signs and plays in the NBA
You may pay more than the extension value to sign for more years
